MSU economist Charles Ballard on the Michigan economy, minimum wage debate

President Obama called for an increase in the federal minimum wage this week in his State of the Union Address. Michigan legislative Democrats followed up with their own calls for an increase. Republicans at all levels say an increase would be a job-killer.

Charles Ballard is a professor of economics at Michigan State University, and director of the State of the State Survey. He joins Mark Bashore to talk about the debate over the minimum wage and other Michigan economic issues.
