Presidential candidates and hints of 2018 state races at MI GOP conference

The Michigan GOP headed north this weekend for the biennial Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference at the Grand Hotel.

This weekend, Michigan Republicans headed north for the biannual Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference. The event also drew six of the GOP contenders for the 2016 presidential race. We talk to the Michigan Public Radio Network's Rick Pluta, who covered the conference.

As summer vacation season winds down, one of Michigan’s most beloved vacation spots was booked up by a different kind of tourist this weekend. The state’s GOP headed north for the biennial Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference.

Joining the party’s rendezvous were five of the 16 contenders for the Republican presidential nomination making their case for why they deserve the party’s support.
