Carol Wood (L) and Kathie Dunbar of the Lansing city council.

Elected officials in the city of Lansing are grappling with security at the HUD subsidized South Washington Park Apartments and with creation of a city marijuana ordinance. The city council’s Public Safety committee is involved in both issues. We talk with two of the committee’s members, Carol Wood and Kathie Dunbar.

Carol Wood and Kathie Dunbar are members of the Lansing City Council. Both serve on the council’s Public Safety committee. That committee is working on improving security and conditions at a challenged public housing complex, South Washington Park Apartments.

The panel also continues toiling away on a marijuana ordinance for the city.

Current State talks with Dunbar and Wood about the apartments and the regulation of marijuana in Lansing.
