New Trustee elected to MSU Board

The Michigan State University Board of Trustees will include one new member beginning in 2017. Results show Republican Dan Kelly of Clarkston was the top-vote getter in the six way contest for a pair of openings.

The long-time Oakland University trustee says he will focus on the university budget and keeping tuition affordable.

Voters have returned incumbent Democrat Dianne Byrum to the MSU board. Incumbent Democrat Diann Woodard will leave the body after serving 8 years.
