Election 2013: New faces emerge in East Lansing's council race

We continue our Election 2013 coverage today with a look at the race for city council in East Lansing.  There are four candidates for full terms on the council, and an appointee to the council has a challenger for the right to fill the balance of a term.There will be at least two new faces, and perhaps three, after the election. Current State producers Kevin Lavery and Scott Pohl talked with residents and city officials about the issues in the campaign. Not surprisingly, they include the city's budget and economic development efforts.

There are four candidates for full terms on the city council. They are Sam Artley, Ruth Beier, Ben Eysselinck and Susan Woods. Two will be elected.

Kathleen Boyle is an appointee to the council, and she's running to fill the balance of her term against Joanna Bosse.
