Buying a home is fraught with difficult decisions, and navigating the process can be daunting. For potential homebuyers in the Lansing area, there’s at least one place to get some help: The Home Buyers Club.A partnership between the Ingham County Land Bank and the Center for Financial Health, the Home Buyers Club works with potential homebuyers, particularly ones with less than stellar credit and little-to-no savings. The program began last spring, but had its official kick-off earlier this fall.

Denise Keiser, executive director of the Center for Financial Health, and Monika Mayer, a recent homeowner thanks to the Home Buyer Club, talked with Current State. Mayer has only been in her new home since last Wednesday.

Keiser thinks Lansing is heading into a more positive housing market.
