Audio postcard: Lansing preps for 'Silver Bells'

Flickr - anthonares

On this weekend before Thanksgiving, Lansing is again preparing to host its largest public outdoor event of the year.  This is the 29th year for “Silver Bells in the City,” which features music, crafts and an electric light parade through the city’s downtown.WKAR is a media partner for “Silver Bells in the City.”  We’ll be broadcasting live from downtown Lansing on WKAR-TV, tonight at 6 o’clock.

Current State’s Kevin Lavery spent a couple of days wandering through town talking with people setting up for the event.   He first met Dave Huver atop a cherry picker in front of the state Capitol building. He was rigging Christmas lights for tonight’s official lighting, but he wasn't sure how many lights there are.
