Neighbors in Action: East Lansing Rotary Club

http://www.eastlansingrotaryclub.com/

It’s Wednesday and time for our Neighbors in Action segment, where Current State features people and organizations working to make the Greater Lansing community a better place. This week, we feature the East Lansing Rotary.

“Service Above Self” is the long-held motto of of ‘Rotary International,’ a service organization with more than 34,000 chapters and over a million members worldwide.   The East Lansing chapter counts around 80 members whose ongoing projects include grants to the "Relay for Life" cancer charity walk, Lions Club summer camps for kids and "Weekend Survival Food Kits" for hungry kids.

Current State spoke with two ex-East Lansing Rotary presidents, John Saltzgaber and Tim McCaffrey.  McCaffrey is involved in one Rotary project in particular in his capacity as East Lansing Parks and Recreation Director: Playground in the Park.

We could always use more nominations and we know there are great people and organizations out there that are doing excellent work and we just don’t know about them. Please help us out and send us an email to Currentstate@wkar.org or tweet us at @karcurrentstate and tell us why you think they should be featured for the great work they do.
