Olympic champion boxer Claressa Shields of Flint eyes 2016 games

Claressa Shields of Flint was the first woman to win an Olympic gold medal in boxing. Current State's Melissa Benmark talks with Shields about her boxing career and her remaining ambitions in the ring.

Hundreds of people gathered at the Flint Institute of Arts last night to see a film about Claressa Shields, the gold medal boxer from Flint. Earlier this week we heard from Sue Jaye Johnson, the producer of “T-Rex,” a documentary about Claressa Shields’ journey to the 2012 Olympics and back. The movie is making the rounds of various film festivals, but Shields wanted it to be shown in her hometown, and last night, it was.
