Detroit’s Queen of the Blues, Thornetta Davis, opens the show and the Governors award is presented to Murray Feldman of FOX2.

WKAR's Al Martin, host of Current Sports, and MSU basketball great Morris 'Mo Pete' Peterson are among the presenters for the evening.

Six WKAR originals are nominated in 2016, including Forte (three nominations), Curious Crew (two nominations) and 31st Silver Bells in the City.

MSU faculty from the College of Communication Arts and Sciences received nominations for the film "Spare Parts" and the "Living History Project."

MSU’s Communications and Brand Strategy team and MSU athletics combine for a total of ten additional nominations.
