The second MSU "Latin IS America" series got underway Wednesday and continues at campus locations and around the Lansing area through next Saturday, April 19. It's a ten day festival that includes lectures, discussions, and concerts.Current State's Peter Whorf spoke with Ricardo Lorenz and Mark Sullivan from MSU’s College of Music about the festival's highlights.

Lorenz says his U.S. premiere composition "Cacerola Soul" was inspired by pot banging protests in Chile in the 1970s. It will be performed on Sunday.
