Kristine Thatcher. The staged reading of her play 'Waiting for Tina Meyer' is Tuesday at The Robin Theatre in Lansing.

Kristine Thatcher was a fixture on the Lansing theatre scene for many years. Tomorrow night, a special staging of  one of her plays will help her pay medical bills. Current State’s Scott Pohl talks with Kristine Thatcher about her play “Waiting for Tina Meyer.”

Kristine Thatcher is an actress and playwright who led Boarshead Theatre and, later, Stormfield Theatre in Lansing. Since Stormfield closed in 2012, her ability to work has been limited by poor health. A group of her friends have worked to help pay the bills incurred while undergoing treatment for ovarian cancer. Their work continues on Tuesday night.

Current State’s Scott Pohl talks with Kristine Thatcher about this week's production of “Waiting for Tina Meyer” at The Robin Theatre in Lansing.

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
