Old Town gallery engages community with ‘Art of Gifting’ exhibit

Art and community go hand in hand, and MICA Gallery in Old Town Lansing seeks to support community development with quality arts programming. Current State talks with MICA Program Director Katrina Daniels about the exhibit that’s at the gallery now.

Art can play an important role in a community, and it has been playing an important role in Old Town Lansing for many years. The Michigan Institute for Contemporary Art, known as MICA, is a non-profit that was incorporated in 1984 as the North Lansing Art Association. It serves as a catalyst for community development through quality arts programming, and one of those programs is the MICA Gallery.
