Jazz legend Kenny Barron takes up a week-long residency at MSU, performing and teaching throughout Mid-Michigan. Wel hear him perform and speak with Current State's Scott Pohl.

It’s safe to say that there’s no more distinguished jazz pianist on the planet today than Kenny Barron. For the last half-century, Barron has been collaborating with all the world’s major jazz figures, making hundreds of recordings, and educating the next creators of the art form.

Kenny Barron is in residence with the MSU College of Music this week, performing and instructing on campus and across the state.

He very generously took a major portion of his Tuesday this week to come to WKAR for music and conversation with Current State’s Scott Pohl.

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
