In January, the Capitol Area Blues Society sent a couple of Lansing acts to the International Blues Competition in Memphis, Tennessee. In the band category, Twyla Birdsong and her band competed. Birdsong was a Live Music Friday guest here in November. In the solo and duo category, Stan and Ben (Stan Budzynski and Ben Hall) represented Lansing.
