Augusta’s Barn Theater takes stock of 70 summers

Credit The Barn Theaters

The Barn Theater in Augusta, Michigan is celebrating its 70th season. One actor in the current production made his stage debut at The Barn when he was just one year old.

There’s a great tradition in the theater world known as summer stock.  That’s when a theater takes advantage of the mostly good weather to stage various productions. It also can provide young or just-graduated performers a chance to watch seasoned colleagues and learn what makes up the core repertoire of theater life. One of these Summer Stocks is located here in Mid-Michigan and has just begun its 70th season.

Current State’s Jamie Paisley visited The Barn Theatre School in Augusta this past weekend.  The cast and crew were preparing for their next production, the classic 1950 musical Guys and Dolls.
