Current State's Jamie Paisley speaks with the 1st violinist of the Escher String Quartet ahead of their upcoming Fontana Chamber Arts summer performance in Kalamazoo.

The Fontana Chamber Arts summer series is underway. Current State’s Jamie Paisley speaks with one of the Juilliard trained musicians coming to Kalamazoo this weekend.

Adam Barnett-Hart is the first violinist with the New York City-based Escher Quartet. They are designated “Artists of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center,” and frequently perform in Alice Tully Hall. During this Saturday’s Concert, however, they are in the much more intimate space: Cooper’s Glen Auditorium at the Kalamazoo Nature center, which seats an audience of only 150 people.
