Our Live Music Friday guest is Michael Dease, a world-class trombone player who teaches in the MSU College of Music’s Jazz Studies program. His most recent album is “Father Figure.”

BONUS MUSIC: Michael Dease, 'Just Friends'

Renowned trombonist Michael Dease is our Live Music Friday guest this week. Michael is on the MSU College of Music’s Jazz Studies program faculty. He’s played extensively with the Christian McBride Big Band and with stars like Paul Simon and Alicia Keys. This week, he was part of an ensemble performing a concert in tribute to Ray Charles at the Hollywood Bowl.

Today in WKAR’s Studio S, he's joined by Seth Ebersole on tenor saxophone, Francesca Romero on piano and Adam Olscewski on bass.

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
