It’s Live Music Friday on Current State, and our guest is Monte Pride. He’s a 20-year-old Okemos-based musician with a new album out called “Hawthorne Morning Sound.” His CD release concert last month at The Robin Theatre was a sellout.

Your next chance to catch him live is on Sunday; he’ll appear at The Avenue Cafe on East Michigan Avenue in Lansing, starting at 8 p.m.

Monty Pride performs live from WKAR's Studio S along with Benjy Joung on cello.

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
