It's the first day of autumn, and that means football. If you've ever been to Michigan State University or any major football game, you've noticed a lot of activity that takes place outside of the stadium. Tailgating brings people together, and not all of them are even planning to attend the game.WKAR-TV will air a documentary called "Football Tailgating: Where Michiganders Love to Gather" in January.

Current State talks with MSU economics professor Ron Fisher about the economic impact of tailgating, and Fred Honhart, director emeritus of the MSU archives, about the history of tailgating.
