Jane Enderle (L) and her baby, Otto, with Lindsey LaForte of La Leche League East Lansing.

For Neighbors in Action this week, we talk to La Leche League of East Lansing, an organization that provides support, encouragement, information and education to women who want to breastfeed.

This month is National Breastfeeding month, and today is the start of Black Breastfeeding Awareness Week. In honor of these events, we’re learning more about La Leche League for Neighbors in Action this week.

La Leche League is dedicated to helping mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, and education and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of babies and mothers.

We talk with a leader from their East Lansing chapter, Lindsey Laforte, and Woodland, Michigan mother Jane Enderle.
