The 2016 Silver Bells in the City celebration in Lansing features a 50-foot blue spruce harvested from the Sault Ste. Marie area.

The 32nd annual Silver Bells In The City kicks off today in downtown Lansing and we could see a lot of people there if the nice weather holds out. We talk about it with Downtown Lansing Inc. executive director Mindy Biladeau.

Are you ready for city sidewalks, busy sidewalks, dressed in holiday style? Tens of thousands of people are expected in downtown Lansing tonight to enjoy the 32nd annual Silver Bells In The City celebration.

The event features music, food, crafts and of course the venerable electric light parade. The evening culminates with the annual lighting of the state Christmas tree and fireworks over the Capitol.

WKAR-TV will broadcast the event live this evening at 6.

Current State previews Silver Bells in the city with Mindy Biladeau, executive director of Downtown Lansing Inc.
