Lansing holiday art exhibit benefits from ‘Shop Small’ trend

We talk with Barb Whitney of the Lansing Art Gallery about making works by local artists available during the holiday shopping season.

For the majority of its 51 years, the Lansing Art Gallery has kicked off the start of the holiday season with an exhibition of several local Michigan artists working in a variety of mediums. Current State’s Jamie Paisley speaks with the Gallery’s executive director, Barb Whitney, about this year’s exhibit, which seems to be benefitting from this revitalized era of the “Shop Small” movement encouraging the support of local businesses during the forthcoming consumer holiday season.
