Holt teacher on value of Youth Art Month

We speak with a mid-Michigan art teacher about Youth Art Month about ways to be involved, even if your school has nixed arts education.

March is Youth Art Month and it’s a nationwide initiative, part of the National Art Education Association that’s been going on since the 1960’s.

Current State’s Jamie Paisley speaks with Holt High School’s Art Teacher, Heidi Irvine [UR-vin] to discuss local ways to bring kids to the arts. Irvine was the Michigan Art Teacher of the Year a while back. One of her focal points for this art-centric month is in collaboration with an organization that has given Michigan a very specific challenge.
