Peter Spadafore has resigned from the Lansing Board of Education to serve on the Lansing City Council. That created one of two vacancies on the school board.

Eight applicants met the deadline to apply for vacancies on the Lansing Board of Education. There are two spots to be filled, due to the death of Shirley Rodgers and the resignation of new Lansing city council member Peter Spadafore.

The applicants are Dr. Farhan Bhatti, Nathan Burroughs, Brandon Henderson, Yanice Y. Jackson, Thomas A. Muth Junior, Stephen Purchase, LaToya Scott and Evelyn Pech-Vazquez.

Interviews will be conducted on January 25th.
