Despite the flooding and some evacuations, the Lansing School district says 83 percent of students attended class on Thursday.

Teresa Szymanski is chief of operations for Lansing School District.

She said there are special areas for families in flooded neighborhoods to get their children to and from the school bus.

"When we were getting information about street closures and locations that were impacted by the water, we established hubs at the community centers so for example the Guyer, Letts, Foster so folks had an alternative place to drop off their child," said Szymanski.

Szymanski said NO Lansing schools were impacted by flood waters.
