MI mental health services disrupted by medicaid expansion

As enrollment in the state’s Healthy Michigan program continues, many of the state’s Community Mental Health officials have been sounding the alarm that they do not have sufficient funds to treat everyone who comes to them for help. In fact, there have already been scattered reports of people being cut off from state mental health services due to the shift in funding caused by the Medicaid expansion.On Monday, the Mental Health Association in Michigan held a special meeting to address the potential crisis. Current State speaks with Mark Reinstein, the president and CEO of the Mental Health Association in Michigan.
