What makes cartoon music so funny? We ask musicologist Daniel Goldmark about the history of music for cartoons ahead of his visit to the MSU College of Music.

No matter how old you are, you probably still love cartoons. Ever thought about the music that accompanies them? Current State’s Melissa Benmark talks to Daniel Goldmark, who directs the Center for Popular Music Studies at Case Western Reserve University, about some of the differences between “serious” film music and what’s used for cartoons. Goldmark will be speaking to students at the MSU College of Music this week.
