A Lansing city councilwoman thinks Ingham County officials were right to table an idea for a regional parks millage on the November ballot. First ward representative Jody Washington says Lansing residents are being "millaged to death."

"Enough is enough," she declares. "We need to start reworking these budgets. We need to learn to live within our means. And that was exactly why I voted to not put the sidewalk millage on the November ballot for Lansing."

Tuesday night, Ingham County Commissioners discussed a proposal from Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero for another half-mill for county parks. They decided more time is needed to study it.

Some commissioners say the plan would benefit Lansing more than other areas.
