Moms rally for gun background checks

Wikimedia Commons

Today as Michigan lawmakers make their way to their offices, they’ll be offered some treats, from a group who is sweet on gun sense. Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America will rally at the Michigan capitol.A year ago the group lobbied for legislation requiring background checks for the purchase of firearms. Since it was introduced in the house, no further action has been taken.

Linda Brundage, is the leader and founder of the Mid- Michigan chapter of Moms Demand Action.  She tells Current State that legislation currently is in the House Judiciary Committee. Her group has met with everyone on the panel, but nothing has happened, despite the fact that 90 percent of citizens want background checks on all gun purchases.
