Branding can make all the difference, especially when it comes to the candidates running for President. We speak to a University of Detroit marketing professor about the unique ways Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have decided to market themselves during this historic run for President.

This campaign season has been filled with tweets, jabs and marketing issues like none other. Most marketing professionals would say both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have had branding issues.

University of Detroit marketing professor Mike Bernacchi publishes a weekly marketing newsletter, Under the Mike-Roscope. He joined the University in 1973.

Current State’s Brooke Allen  asks Bernacchi if  these branding issues could affect voters.

Brooke Allen served as local producer and host for Morning Edition, from June 2016-March 2018.
