The presidential election on November 8 could smash voter turnout records. We talk with Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum and Lansing City Clerk Chris Swope about their preparations.

It’s almost cliche now to say the 2016 election has been an event unlike anything America has ever seen. In just two weeks, the nation will decide whether Democrat Hillary Clinton or Republican Donald Trump will become the 45th President of the United States.

Officials across the country and here in mid-Michigan are bracing for potentially historic voter turnout at the polls. City and county clerks are planning for long lines on November 8th, and quietly preparing their security measures.
