Neighbors in Action: Haven House

Flickr - media.wweek

It’s Wednesday and time for our Neighbors in Action segment, where we feature people and organizations working to make our community a better place. This week, we feature Haven House.

The East Lansing agency provides emergency housing and support services for families with children.

Executive director Angie Mayeaux and former client Linda Bennett tell Current State about the organization's 30 years in operation. Haven House took in Bennett and her severely impaired son when other shelters wouldn't.

We could always use more nominations and we know there are great people and organizations out there that are doing excellent work and we just don’t know about them. Please help us out and send us an email about these great non-profits in the area to Currentstate@wkar.org. Put “Neighbors in Action” in the subject line and tell us why you think they should be featured for the great work they do.
