Spartans Nip Owls in Season Opener

WKAR
Tom Izzo and Eric Snow embrace one another after the MSU/FAU game at the Breslin Center on Friday night.

The MSU men's basketball team topped Florida Atlantic University at the Breslin Center in Friday night's season opener. This marked the 31st consecutive season opening win for the Spartans, 18-3 under head coach Tom Izzo.

Tonight's matchup marked the first meeting between No. 13 Michigan State and Florida Atlantic. The Owls are coached by former Detroit Pistons player and coach Michael Curry, also featuring former MSU hoop great Eric Snow on the assistant coaching staff.

WKAR's Al Martin reports from East Lansing.
