WKAR's Radio Manager Peter Whorf recently hosted a National Writers Series event in Traverse City.

The series explores the world of great writing with authors in conversation from the stage of the historic City Opera House in Traverse City, Michigan. Whorf had the chance to sit down and interview Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha on her recent book What the Eyes Don’t See. The book is a powerful first-hand account of the Flint water crisis, the signature environmental disaster of our time, and a riveting narrative of personal advocacy.

Listen in for a future broadcast of their talk during National Writers Series Sundays at 1 p.m. on AM 870 and 105.1 FM.

WKAR’s first live pledge drive since federal funding was eliminated is happening now. Our goal for the drive is $60,000 and reaching it will bring us one step closer to closing the federal funding gap.
