A new poll shows Democratic U.S. Reps. Mark Schauer and Gary Peters apparently are leading in the 7th and 9th districts.

The EPIC-MRA poll shows 45% back Schauer while 39% support former GOP Rep. Tim Walberg. Seven percent back a third-party candidate, and 9% were undecided.

Peters has the support of 48% while Republican Rocky Raczkowski was backed by 43% in the 9th District. Four percent back other candidates, and 5 percent were undecided.

The poll interviewed 400 likely voters in each of the two districts on Saturday and Sunday and had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 5 percentage points.

It was commissioned by the Detroit Free Press and TV stations WXYZ, WOOD, WILX, and WJRT.
