Cranbrook exhibits decades of Warhol album covers

Andy Warhol is perhaps the most recognizable name in 20th century American art. One factor in his popularity is the many album covers he designed. As a graphic design artist, Warhol’s album works date back to the late 1940s.At the Cranbrook Art Museum in Bloomfield Hills, an extensive collection of Andy Warhol’s album art is on display through March 15th of next year. Current State’s Scott Pohl toured  “Warhol on Vinyl: The Record Covers 1949-1987” with Curator of Contemporary Art and Design Laura Mott.

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
