The Purple Rose Theatre Company in Chelsea is coming to Lansing tonight to host a staged reading of a new play at Riverwalk Theatre. We speak with Purple Rose artistic director Guy Sanville and playwright Timothy Mason about the play and tonight’s reading.

Before plays make it to a full production in a theater, they’re often performed as a staged reading in front of an audience. Tonight, the Purple Rose Theatre Company in Chelsea is hosting a staged reading here in Lansing at the Riverwalk Theatre.

The play is called “The Fisherman’s Wife,” it’s a fairytale-style story for adults written by Timothy Mason.

Current State talks with Mason and with Purple Rose Artistic Director Guy Sanville.
