Our Live Music Friday guest this week is Lansing singer Twyla Birdsong. She’s well known in blues music circles.

We’ve invited one of our favorite singers back for Live Music Friday. Twyla Birdsong represented Lansing at the International Blues Challenge last January. You might remember her being part of a story a few months ago here on Current State about her work on a spoken word EP released by her friend Tyler Jenson.

Here to play with Twyla today are Steve “Frog” Forgey on guitar, Mike Skory on piano and Phil Scott on bass.

Twyla Birdsong performs "Merry Christmas Baby" and "Respect Yourself" live from WKAR's Studio S.

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
