The Ten Pound Fiddle concert series has announced its 2019-20 schedule of folk music shows.

A concert featuring the music of Phil Ochs kicks off this year’s Ten Pound Fiddle shows on Friday, September 13th. Ochs was part of the Greenwich Village music scene in the 60’s, and the program will be led by his sister, Sonny.

May Erlewine is on the schedule twice. She’ll appear with Rachael Davis and Lindsay Lou as a trio called the Sweet Water Warblers on Valentines Day next February. Her first visit of the season will mark the release of her new CD “Second Sight” on October 11th

Ten Pound Fiddle’s Holiday Sing will be back in December, as will the Midwinter Singing Festival in January.

One new show arrives on Wednesday, October 16th, when the Fiddle brings a staging of the musical “Mother Jones In Heaven,” about the legendary labor organizer, to the Robin Theatre in Lansing.

Joshua Davis returns to the Fiddle this season. Look for him on March 27th.

Show booker Sally Potter says favorites like Joshua Davis love performing for the attentive audiences they find at the Ten Pound Fiddle. "We sorta take the folks who are really, really good at this, the folks from Michigan who may not always get to play a listening room,  and so they love playing the Fiddle because we are still a listening room," Potter explains. "People come in, and they can present their musical performance and 100, 200, 300, 500 people are listening."

Their contra dances and Fiddle Scouts programs for kids are back, too.
