Okemos girls lacrosse coach Brandon Schwind addresses his team during practice.

OKEMOS, Mich. - The Okemos girls lacrosse team has something to prove this season. Over the last three years on their road to the State finals, the girls have lost to East Grand Rapids - twice in the semifinals and once in the State finals. EGR is the four time defending state champion, with their streak dating back to 2012.

The Lady Chieftains know their road to contend for a championship will likely go through EGR again.

New coach Brandon Schwind is hoping to make the difference, as he has worked with all levels of lacrosse: high school, travel, and collegiate.

WKAR "Current Sports" beat reporter Andrea Urban highlights the Okemos girls team, and why they have big dreams for this spring's season.
