Freshman forward Jaren Jackson, Jr., has officially announced his departure from Michigan State University with the intention of declaring for the 2018 NBA Draft.

Jackson was terrific for the Spartans in his only season, shattering the single-season blocks record. His 106 blocks replaced the 1985 record set by Ken Johnson, who had 72. He averaged just under 11 points per game, along with 5.8 rebounds. He will hire an agent, joining teammates Miles Bridges and Nick Ward on the list of available players for NBA teams to choose from. He was awarded the Freshman of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year awards by the Big Ten.
