Former Michigan State basketball player Eron Harris is living out a dream of being a professional baller overseas. The road wasn't easy, but it's something he's grateful for.

Eron Harris had his senior year for the Michigan State men's basketball team cut short after a right knee injury in February of 2017 on the road against Purdue. The West Virginia transfer drove to the basket for lay-up and landed awkwardly under the hoop. The injury was so severe that he had to be wheeled off the court on a stretcher while many of his teammates stood on the hardwood in tears.

That moment led to an 11-month rehabilitation period for Harris, in which the Michigan State men's basketball staff allowed him to workout at its facilities and heal. Harris never gave up on the dream of playing professional basketball, even playing in the G-League for a stint.

Harris eventually got a call from his agent about an opportunity to play internationally for Tampereen Pyrinto of the Finnish Korisliiga and he calls it a dream come true.

Harris joined Current Sports with Al Martin from France, where he will be spending Christmas. Listen and learn about the perseverance that has led Harris to this point.

Al Martin is the host of Beyond the Score, a new series coming to WKAR in the fall of 2024. Al is also sports reporter for WKAR news.
