Okemos High School athletic director Ira Childress is leaving the mid-Michigan area and heading to Florida. The six-year OHS AD will take on that role at Gulliver Prep in Florida, located just outside the Miami area. Childress joined Current Sports host Al Martin this week to talk about the new position and how it presented itself. Childress expresses his love for Okemos High School and his groundbreaking hire, becoming the first African American to be placed in an administrative role at OHS. That, and so much more!

Al Martin is the host of Beyond the Score, a new series coming to WKAR in the fall of 2024. Al is also sports reporter for WKAR news.
