Former Michigan State University president Lou Anna K. Simon will be back in court on Tuesday.

Simon is due to appear in an Eaton County courtroom for the continuation of her preliminary exam.  She’s charged with lying to law enforcement officers investigating the case of convicted sexual abuser Larry Nassar.

Simon faces two felony and two misdemeanor counts.  Prosecutors say she lied to the Michigan State Police about when she knew Nassar was the focus of a 2014 Title IX review.

It’s possible that Simon’s preliminary exam may conclude on Tuesday; however, the court has also reserved July 12 if proceedings continue.

Judge Julie Reincke will determine whether there’s enough evidence to send the case to trial.
