National Weather Service in Grand Rapids predicted scattered thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and

especially tonight in the Lansing area.

Locally heavy rainfall of up to two inches tonight could lead to some minor flooding. A marginal risk of severe weather also exists tonight, with the primary threat being large hail.

Dozens of entries were expected to march in the annual parade. This year's grand marshal is MSU alum and HGTV co-founder Susan Packard.

Forecasters believe the weather should be fine for Saturday's homecoming game.
