Robert Kleine (L) is a former state Treasurer. Jim Ananich is Senate Democratic leader.

Flint State Sen. Jim Ananich may be the legislature’s harshest critic of the Snyder administration’s handling of the city’s water crisis.

We talk with Sen. Ananich and former state Treasurer Robert Kleine, who says the emergency has its roots in a tangled history of revenue sharing cuts and deindustrialization.

State Sen. Jim Ananich of Flint has been harshly critical of Governor Snyder, former Flint Emergency Manager Darnell Earley and the state’s response to Flint’s water emergency. Yesterday, he announced a plan that he says would speed up remediation of Flint’s infrastructure.

Current State talks with Sen. Ananich and former state Treasurer Robert Kleine. Michigan’s Emergency Managers report to the Treasurer’s office.
