Paddling pioneer discusses life on the water

loveyourbigmuddy.com/

Last year, Janet Moreland became a legend in the world of kayaking. She became the first woman ever to solo paddle what’s called "Source to Sea," the full length of Missouri River-Mississippi River system, from Brower’s Spring, Montana to the Gulf of Mexico. The 38-hundred mile journey took almost eight months to complete.

Tomorrow, she’s the keynote speaker at this year’s Quiet Water Symposium at Michigan State University. She’ll speak at 2:45 p-m Saturday at the Symposium, being held in the MSU Pavilion as part of ANR Week.

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
