Lansing Mayor-elect Andy Schor is announcing his transition team.

The group represents key issue areas, including education and public safety.

Former Lansing state representative and city council member Joan Bauer will lead the transition team. Former Lansing mayor David Hollister will serve as a senior advisor.

The rest of the team is made up of committee leaders.

Consumers Energy executive Greg Ward will head Schor's economic and business development committee.

An education committee will be led by Lansing school superintendent Dr. Yvonne Caamul Canul.

Former city council member Brian Jeffries and former city parks board member Dusty Fancher will co-chair an infrastructure committee.

And community advocate Rina Risper and former Lansing police chief Mark Alley will co-chair a neighborhood and public safety committee.

Andy Schor takes office as Lansing mayor on January 1.

Kevin Lavery served as a general assignment reporter and occasional local host for Morning Edition and All Things Considered before retiring in 2023.
