Billie Jo O'Berry is running to replace Stuart Dunnings III as Ingham County Prosecutor.

Assistant Lansing city attorney Billie Jo O’Berry is one of four candidates running to replace Ingham County Prosecutor Stuart Dunnings III when he resigns this July. We talk with her about her career as assistant city attorney for the city of Lansing and why she is running for the Ingham County Prosecutor.

Now that Stuart Dunnings III has announced his July resignation as the Ingham County Prosecutor, the race is on for his seat. There are currently four declared candidates. The filing deadline is April 19th. The primary takes place August 2nd. The winners of the primary will face off in the November general election, where voters will choose who will serve Ingham County as prosecutor from Jan. 1 through the end of 2020.

Between now and August, Current State will reach out to all the candidates to invite them to discuss why they’re running and what they hope to bring to the office.

Today, we speak with Republican Billie Jo O’Berry about her campaign.
